Trace Adkins and race car driver Danica Patrick are to co-host the 2013 American Country Awards in December.

Adkins has already presented the ceremony three times and is looking forward to teaming up with the speedy NASCAR star, stating, “I can’t wait to see if I have what it takes to keep up with (her).”

Patrick accepts she might not be everyone’s first choice when it comes to hosting a country music awards show, but insists she’s a big fan.

She adds, “I’ve become a huge fan of country music since I came to NASCAR and have been fortunate to be in videos with Miranda Lambert and Colt Ford. This is going to be a really cool experience and I’m excited to be a part of it. It’s going to be a great show.”

Patrick replaces Kristin Chenoweth, who co-hosted with Adkins in 2011 and 2012.
