NEW YORK (AP) — Turkey and all the trimmings — and Macy’s, too?

The department store chain will be breaking a long-standing tradition and will open on the evening of Thanksgiving Day, making it the latest in a growing list of retailers eager to get a jump on the shopping season.

It’s the first time in its 155-year history that Macy’s will be selling on turkey day.

But Macy’s workers will get to finish their turkey and watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Macy’s plans to open some stores at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving, to get an early start on Black Friday, which is seen as the official kickoff to the holiday shopping season.
