Virginia Buys New Drug For Future Executions

Virginia has bought a new sedative that will be used as a lethal injection drug. The Department of Corrections will use midazolam in its three-drug mix during future executions. The company that makes the sedative opposes its use for killing inmates, BUT some state prison systems continue to buy it. The surviving family of a recent deceased Ohio inmate sued the Buckeye State after it was used there.
