Virginia Baseball sent eleven men to the plate in the 3rd inning putting up six runs and never looked back en route to a 9-2 victory over Arkansas to cap a perfect weekend of play.

The 3rd inning surge began when Mike Papi drew a bases loaded walk to put the Cavaliers on the board. From there Joe McCarthy, Derek Fisher, and John La Prise all came up with two-out singles to extend the lead to 6-0.

The top of the 9th was insurance time for Virginia as Derek Fisher registered his second 2 RBI single of the night. Coupled with an Arkansas error in the frame, the Hoos extended to a seven run advantage.

From the mound, Cavalier starter Brandon Waddell picked up the win throwing six and two-thirds innings giving up two runs off seven hits while striking out four.

Virginia advances on to host super regional action where they will meet ACC foe Maryland at Davenport Field.
