A Wednesday evening ceremony at the V-DOT Workers Memorial on I-64. It marked National Work Zone Awareness Week, and it honors state highway department workers killed on the job. There were 21 cones at the memorial reprsenting the number of people killed in work zone crashes last year. This is the 10th anniversary of the memorial (pictured) on I-64 on Afton Mountain. It has the names of 133 V-DOT workers who died in the line of duty.
Health care will now be monitored at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.
