UVA Mourns Onetime Rector Josh Darden

The University of Virginia is mourning one of its past Rectors. Joshua Darden of Norfolk died Thursday at the age of 77. He was appointed to the UVA Board of Visitors by Governor Chuck Robb and reappointed by Gerald Baliles. Darden served as the University’s Rector from 1987 until 1990. He was a lawn resident in the 1957-’58 academic year, while his uncle Colgate Darden was UVA’s President.
