Five members of a Culpeper County family were found shot to death inside a house Sunday night off Rixeyville Road in what authorities say was a murder-suicide. Deputies with the Culpeper Sheriff’s Office responded at around 10 p.m. after the grandmother of the family found the bodies inside the house at at 14458 Rixeyville Road (pictured). Sheriff Scott Jenkins says it appears 35-year-old Clarence Washington killed the rest of his family and then turned the gun on himself. The others were 35-year-old Shauna Washington, 13-year-old Onesha Washington, 6-year-old Onya Washington and 4-year-old Olivia Washington. A gun was recovered at the scene. The last contact with the family was around 5 p.m. Saturday. Jenkins says investigators learned from friends and other family members that there had been recent domestic incidents involving Clarence and Shauna Washington, but the Sheriff’s Office had never been contacted.
