Limb Falls From Rotting Tree Injuring Several At UVA

Several people were injured Thursday afternoon after a large limb from a rotting tree fell on Hospital Drive at the University of Virginia. It happened around 4 p.m. at a farmers’ market for UVA employees that was set up near the Barringer Wing of the Medical Center. Lieutenant Melissa Fielding of the UVA Police says the injuries ranged from minor to serious. Fielding says the tree (pictured) has been removed.
