The U-haul driver, 57-year-old Kevin Baer of Bedford County, has been charged with DUI.
Baer could face more charges as police continue to investigate the 2:30 p.m. Saturday accident. Baer was flown to UVA Hospital where eh’s now in stable condition. Her husband, George Schimmel, was treated and released from the Augusta Medical Center and the driver of the Camry was not injured.
