A man who gained fame as a White House party crasher and reality TV show figure won’t appear on Virginia ballots this fall. The State Board of Elections has told Tareq Salahi he did not get enough valid petition signatures to be the Independent Green Party candidate in the Seventh congressional district. The board says Salahi had signatures from more than 2000 people, but only 480 of them live in the Seventh district. Salahi needed 1000 valid signatures from voters in a district that’s currently represented by Republican Eric Cantor. The November 4th ballot for localities such as Orange and Louisa will include GOP nominee Dave Brat, Democrat Jack Trammell and Libertarian James Carr.
