The director of the Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority says he and his senior staff are updating a 2007 drought response and contingency plan. Tom Frederick says the RWSA’s revised plan should reflect additional water storage capacity that’s being created in this area. That’s a very different scenario from the forecasts we saw in July 2002. That was the summer when the RWSA had water restrictions affecting Albemarle, Charlottesville and the University of Virginia.
