Rick Vrhovac Becomes New Sutherland Principal

A longtime local educator is now the principal of Albemarle County’s newest middle school. Rick Vrhovac (picture courtesy of the Albemarle School Board) is the new principal of Sutherland Middle School. Vehovac takes the place of Dave Rogers who has retired. He began his education career a quarter of a century ago teaching gym classes at Burley Middle School. Vrhovac joined Albemarle High School in 1996 as a science, health and physical education teacher and became the head varsity football coach for the AHS Patriots. He became an assistant principal at Albemarle in 2009, and spent a year as the assistant principal at Walton Middle School.
