Reward Offered For Information On Assault Near Transit Center

A reward is being offered for information in a beating and robbery on New Year’s Eve. A 25-year-old woman was attacked shortly before midnight on December 31st near the Downtown Transit Center on East Water Street. The victim got out of a taxi and was walking around the west side of the Transit Center when she was knocked to the ground by two or more black males who stole her purse. City Police say a $2000 reward is being offered for information leading to arrests. Anybody with information should call Detective Lisa Best at 970-3998 or Crime Stoppers at 977-4000.
