UPDATE: Fire Damages Prospect Avenue Apartments

A fire Monday morning on Prospect Avenue. Two aprtments in the building at 719 Prospect were damaged after a fire went up the exterior vinyl in the rear of the building (pictured). The fire then spread into the attic. Charlottesville Fire Chief Charles Werner says seven people were forced from their home. No injuries were reported. The fire marshall is investigating the cause. It happened at around 7 a.m. The call went to a second-alarm after first being reported as a brush fire. (Photo from Charlottesville Fire Chief Charles Werner)
