New Voter ID Law Begins July 1st

One more general election and one more primary before the new voter ID law kicks in. Local elections will be held in Scottsville, Waynesboro and Staunton May 6th. Charlottesville is among the cities that eliminated the spring election for City Council and moved it to November. Some congressional districts choose party nominees for the House in a June 10th primary. Susan Lee of the State Board of Elections says flyers explaining the new ID law will be sent to voters.
