The UVA Children’s Hospital will soon have a new home. The Battle Building was unveiled to the news media Wednesday morning with an open house for the community on Saturday the 14th. Dr.Jim Nataro, the Director of Children’s Services, says current care is provided in a general setting at the main hospital. But Nataro says the Battle Building is totally dedicated to kids. Features include a storytelling theme with each floor having art displays from children’s classics such as Curious George and Harry Potter. Every floor also has a play center and an outdoor landscape area commemorating the Lewis and Clark expedition with sculptures of animals seen by the explorers. The new facility opens to patients June 23rd.
