Local Pilot Reacts To Fatal Balloon Accident In Caroline County

Photo: WINA

State Police are still trying to determine why a hot air balloon struck a power line Friday night, and so is a local pilot. Rick Behr of Boar’s Head Ballooning knew pilot Dan Kirk, whose balloon caught fire over Caroline County. Behr told WINA’s Les Sinclair on Charlottesville Right Now that staying away from power lines is at the heart of balloon safety. Behr took a balloon over Charlottesville to remember and honor his friend Monday morning.
