A Nelson County judge has upheld the two life terms in prison that a jury has recommended for Randy Allen Taylor. The 48-year-old Taylor (pictured) was convicted earlier this year of killing Alexis Murphy. Taylor chose to speak Wednesday afternoon before Judge Gamble handed down his sentence. Taylor denied killing the Nelson County High School student, and says he holds nothing against her or her family. Authorities have never found the teenager’s body. Murphy vanished nearly a year ago and her family is planning an August 3rd vigil at her old high school near Lovingston. Defense attorney Mike Hallahan of Charlottesville has indicated he will appeal his client’s sentence.
