House Of Delegates Approves Measure Reducing Volume Of SOL Tests

Not as many SOL tests for some students. That’s what will happen if a bill passed by the House of Delegates (pictured) makes it all the way through the General Assembly. It would knock down the number of SOL tests from 22 to 17 in grades 3 through 8. Greater emphasis would be placed on problem solving, critical thinking and knowledge-application skills instead of preparing for multiple choice questions.
