An Augusta County supervisor wants to challenge a senior member of the General Assembly next year. The Staunton News-Leader is reporting that Marshall Pattie plans to take on State Senator Emmett Hanger for the Republican nomination. Pattie will announce his candidacy Monday afternoon. He became the chairman of the Augusta Democrats in 2009, and then ran as an Independent when he became a supervisor three years ago. Hanger was first elected to the State Senate in 1995. His district includes Greene County and the Staunton-Waynesboro-Augusta area.
The series will reportedly follow the style of the movies.
The award was announced on Wednesday and surprised no one.
