Governor Orders State Agencies To Contract More With Certain Firms

More help for businesses owned by women and minorities. Governor McAuliffe (pictured) is ordering state agencies to contract more often with those companies. An executive order requires state agencies to spend 42% of their discretionary spending on certified small businesses owned by women and minorities. State agencies must also contract with businesses that have no more than 25 employees and make no more than $3 million a year.
