Governor McAuliffe has declared a state of emergency, an action that authorizes state agencies to be ready to assist local government in responding. The governor is asking everybody to postpone travel, charge up your mobile devices, and check on your neighbors. As a result of the emergency declaration, the Virginia Emergency Operations Center is at increased readiness with emergency response team members monitoring the storm and ready to coordinate state response.
