Governor McAuliffe wants lobbyists to disclose what they spend on gifts to any state lawmaker’s family. The governor has amended an ethics bill that the General Assembly approved in the wake of former Governor Bob McDonnell’s legal troubles. McAuliffe wants to force a lobbyist to report the price of gifts for a delegate or senator,¬†and his or her immediate family. The original bill was limited to gifts and entertainment for a current member of the General Assembly. Lawmakers can react to the Governor’s proposed amendments during an April 23rd veto override session.
