Second Openly Gay Member Of General Assembly

A six-term member of the House of Delegates is the second openly gay member of the state legislature. Fairfax Democrat Mark Sickles has revealed his sexual orientation in a Washington Post opinion column. Sickles (pictured) is a candidate for the Eighth District seat in Congress that’s currently held by retiring fellow Democrat Jim Moran. One of his rivals in a June 10th primary is openly gay State Senator Adam Ebbin of Alexandria.
