Attorney General Mark Herring had a brainstorming session Wednesday with local prosecutors, sheriffs and police department representatives. Herring (pictured center) wants to know what tools these officials need to be more effective. Several Commonwealth’s Attorneys and Albemarle Police Chief Steve Sellers told Herring they see a lot of criminal suspects with mental health issues. Albemarle Sheriff Chip Harding (pictured right) says many people who have been convicted lose their driver’s licenses, and that makes it tougher to get a job.
