Federal Lawmakers Ask Governor To Create Heroin Task Force

Twelve members of the Virginia Congressional Delegation are asking Governor McAuliffe to form a statewide task force to address Virginia’s growing heroin epidemic. The bipartisan group of legislators worries about the rapid spread of heroin and its impact on Virginia communities. In a joint letter sent Thursday, they point out that not a week goes by with without the death of another heroin addict making headlines. Nationally, heroin use nearly doubled between 2002 and 2012.
