The Albemarle Supervisors have instructed their staff to keep searching for a new site for the county courts. They also want a simultaneous search for ways to keep the courts in the downtown business district. Ann Mallek (pictured) says she’s convinced that parking is a real problem for many people who use the courts. Vice-Chairwoman Diantha McKeel has reminded her colleagues a new courts complex could cost $40-$50 million. The county has more than $2 million in its capital improvements budget to start designing an upgrade for the courts.
