Charlottesville school officials are trying to complete many renovations before students show up for the first day of classes on August 20th. Mike Mollica oversees the city’s capital improvements program, which has included upgrades for Greenbrier and Jackson-Via (pictured). One of the largest new projects is the Sigma Lab at Charlottesville High School. A part of the CHS media center has been converted into a science, technology, engineering and math lab. The budget for that item exceeds $1.2 million.
