City School Board Gets Feedback On Student Schedules

City School Board Gets Feedback On Student Schedules

The Charlottesville School Board is getting lots of advice on daily schedules for students. The possibility of earlier start times in the lower grades dominated a Monday night town hall at Charlottesville High School. Many parents of elementary school students say it’s already tough to wake up the kids and get them ready for school. Assistant Superintendent Jim Henderson reminded the board about the hundreds of student-athletes at CHS. He says a significant adjustment to the dismissal times at the city’s only high school would impact instruction. The board has not made any decisions about future starting times. Superintendent Rosa Atkins (pictured) and the school board expect to revisit the issue April 10th.
