Harringtons Want Civil Suit Against RMC To Move Forward

The surviving family of Morgan Dana Harrington was back in Charlottesville on Tuesday. A judge is trying to determine whether a nearly $4 million civil suit against RMC Events can go forward. Lawyers for Dan and Gil Harrington say their daughter was disoriented from a head injury while she attended an October 2009 concert at the John Paul Jones Arena. The Harringtons’ attorney Lee Livingston has argued the 20-year-old Virginia Tech student (pictured) got no help from a security crew at the arena. Lawyers for RMC Events say they are a contractor and that were not responsible for the “no re-entry” policy at the JPJ. Morgan Harrington’s remains were found on a remote Albemarle County farm in early 2010. The Harringtons’ lawsuit is pending in Charlottesville Circuit Court.
