Local Delegates Get Legislation Approved

A local lawmaker wants to penalize anyone who gets caught placing bogus information in a patient’s record.  Albemarle Delegate Rob Bell has authored a bill that included a statute of limitations. Bell originally favored a five year limit, but the State Senate changed that to three years.  Meanwhile, local Delegate David Toscano has crafted legislation that’s designed to help older consumers. Toscano says anyone who cheats a senior citizen with a contract should have to pay attorneys’ fees.  The measures from Bell and Toscano have cleared both chambers by overwhelming margins.
