Cause Of Recent Fatal Fire Officially Undetermined

Albemarle officials believe a fire that killed a woman and two young children the morning of January 18th began near a baseboard heater.  County Fire and Rescue Chief Dan Eggleston (pictured) says the fire destroyed the evidence his department would need to establish a specific cause. He says there’s no evidence that the fire near Route 250 East in the Keswick area was anything other than an accident. It killed a 34-year-old woman and her 7-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter.
