More than 100 people mobilized for a weekend search for any sign of Alexis Murphy. Most of them assembled Sunday at Lynchburg’s E. C. Glass High School, and went looking for clues near Route 29 in the Lovingston area of Nelson County. Murphy (pictured) is the 17-year-old who vanished in early August from a gas station and convenience store a few miles from her house. Angela Taylor, who’s a member of the missing girl’s family, has told the Lynchburg News and Advance newspaper that searchers should look for a blue cell phone cover and a two-toned gray purse. Taylor says Alexis was carrying those items when she disappeared on August 3rd.
