The chief judge of a special court has provided the rules for a recount in the race for Attorney General. Circuit Judge Beverly Snuckals and the recount court will allow attorneys for Loudoun County Democrat Mark Herring and Harrisonburg Republican Mark Obenshain to have access to a full array of election materials. Herring has a 165-vote edge out of more than 2.2 million ballots that were cast on November 5th. Lawyers for the Obenshain campaign have argued that Fairfax County officials did NOT do everything they could last month to insure ballot security. They contend used ballots and blank ones were belatedly submitted to the Clerk of the Fairfax Circuit Court. The recounts will begin next week.
