Some Maryland drivers plan on driving over the state line to take advantage of our gas prices. On July 1st, gas prices in Maryland will increase at least three-cents a gallon and drop six-cents in Virginia because of the changes in each state’s gas tax. That means prices in the Commonwealth will actually be at least nine-cents less than in Maryland. Truck driver Mark James says crossing the border means he will save about $25 every time he fills his tank.
