Virginia Attracts More Movie, TV Production Deals

Virginia officials say efforts to bring movie and television production to the Commonwealth are paying off. Following an incentive program that was expanded in 2010, production projects have generated a total economic impact of $139 million. Governor McDonnell says there’s been a nearly 16% increase in employment the past two years in Virginia’s film industry. Recent productions have included Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” HBO’s “John Adams,” as well as the new Tom Hanks film “Captain Phillips.”
