Vacant House Burns To The Ground On Green Creek Road

Albemarle fire officials say a vacant house burned to the ground Thursday in the 4000 block of Green Creek Road. Assistant County Fire Marshal Shawn Maddox says the house was already a total loss when crews arrived at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. A passerby let authorities know the structure had caught fire. Maddox says the last known occupant died before the fire, and a trust that was managed by a prior owner’s adult children owned the vacant house.
