UVA Will Celebrate 50th Anniversary Of King Speech

The University of Virginia will spotlight this month’s anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. The University Chapel will conduct a bell-ringing ceremony at 3 p.m. on August 28th. There will be other events to note the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Some students will read parts of King’s 1963 speech and discuss the event at 2 that afternoon in the Rotunda Dome Room.
