UVA Students Will Honor Veterans

University of Virginia students who are preparing for military careers will hold a vigil to recognize Veterans Day. Students from UVA’s Army, Navy and Air Force ROTC programs have shifts when they will march back and forth in front of the Rotunda. Their annual vigil will last 24 hours beginning at 3 p.m. Monday. A retired Marine Corps officer will speak to the ROTC students during a ceremony at the end of the vigil. The closing ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Paul Galanti (pictured), who was once a Vietnam era Prisoner of War, spoke to Air Force ROTC students during a prior version of the event.
