UVA Formally Greets The Newest Wahoos

The University of Virginia has formally welcomed 3515 first-year students and several hundred transfer students to the Grounds. These young men and women heard from President Teresa Sullivan and several student leaders Sunday evening while they were seated facing the Rotunda. They also signed cards that commit them to upholding the University’s honor system. One of UVA’s oldest traditions involves secret societies. First-year student Jeff Gray of Virginia Beach read a note to his classmates from the most secretive organization of all, the Seven Society.
