U.S. Capitol Will Get Its Turn For Repair Project

The Washington Monument has been covered with scaffolding for repairs in the wake of the earthquake that shook up Louisa County in August 2011. Next on the list to have a lot of scaffolding around it will be the U.S. Capitol Dome. They’ll be repairing cracks and corrosion. The project will take two years, and the Capitol Dome will be completely covered in scaffolding for a lot of that time. A D.C. tourist says he’s willing to put up with the temporary additions to the structure. You can hear his comments by clicking the button at the bottom of this article. There are over a thousand cracks and other deficiencies.
