Two reports of natural gas leaks Tuesday morning. One caused a traffic problem, the other was unfounded. Shortly after 9am, firefighters went to the intersection of JPA and Emmet Street just south of the UVA Grounds. There was a high-pressure natural gas leak from a construction accident, and the JPA-Emmet intersection was shut down for about 15 minutes. Just before 9:30, there was a report of a gas leak at the Smith Aquatic Center next to Buford Middle School. Buford was evacuated, but nothing was found and school returned to normal.
