The sister-in-law of onetime Governor and U.S. Senator Chuck Robb says she can never forget the events of November 22nd, 1963. Luci Baines Johnson (pictured left) was the younger daughter of Vice-President Lyndon Johnson, who became President after the assassination of John F. Kennedy. She was a 16-year-old attending a high school Spanish class when her dad (pictured third from right) became the leader of the free world. Luci Johnson was a Sunday guest on the CBS news program Face the Nation. Her older sister Lynda Bird (pictured second from right), who served as Virginia’s First Lady from 1982 until ’86, was a sophomore at the Austin campus of the University of Texas. LBJ’s two daughters are shown in December 1968 with grandson Patrick Lyndon Nugent (second from left), the late Lady Bird Johnson (third from left), and Chuck and Lynda Bird Robb’s eldest daughter Lucinda (pictured right).
