The 2013-2014 Virginia Basketball Season Has Already Begun

It has been just three months since the Virginia Men’s basketball team concluded its season with a loss to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the quarterfinals of the NIT tournament. Coming off a 23-12 year, the Hoos finished with one of their best records in recent history, but still fell short of an appearance in the NIT Finals in MadisonSquareGarden.

Today, that team is back in action, with the addition of a few new players. Jeff White, of Virginiasports.com, joined us tonight on Best Seat in the House, to discuss what he saw at day one of practice. White offered us insight into his first impressions of the new freshman, as well as players returning from the injured list, that we can look forward to seeing on the court throughout the 2013-2014 season. “[Devon Hall and London Perrantes] looked good. The most welcome sight out there is to see Malcolm Brogdon out there, full go. He looked fantastic…It’s easy to forget how good he was as a first year player, with him sitting out last year.” He went on to say, “It’s cool to look out, see those guys, and know they’re full fledged members of this years team”.

Although tipoff for next season seems decades away, the men’s basketball team is wasting no time as they try to continue to build upon last years achievements.
