Suspect In Huntington Road Incident Identified

Albemarle Police have identified the suspect taken into custody early Monday following a pursuit in the Northfields subdivision. 23-year-old Rashaun Perkins (pictured) of Bealeton is charged with one felony count of eluding police and one misdemeanor count of hit and run of unattended property. A County Police officer saw a vehicle leaving the area of Carrsbrook Drive and Huntington Road at a high rate of speed at around 3 a.m. Monday. Police got a call about somebody breaking into cars in the 2700-block of Huntington Road. The suspect vehicle ran a stop sign at Rio Road before crashing on Pine Haven Court. It hit a parked car, continued on the sidewalk, and then hit some brick stairs. Police say the driver and two passengers ran from the crash, but Perkins was caught a short time later on Greenbrier Drive.
