Our region and Williamsburg have something to crow about. The Princeton Review ranks the University of Virginia (pictured) as the nation’s best public college, and the College of William and Mary shows up as #4. Six of Virginia’s other public universities also appeared in the top 75. They are James Madison, Longwood, George Mason, Christopher Newport, Virginia Tech and Radford. The University of Richmond made the Princeton Review’s list of the best private colleges. The people who created the rankings looked at academics, costs and financial aid programs. They also examine the average debt that students bring with them to graduation.
