State Climatologist Sees Way Above Normal Rainfall Amounts

It should come as no surprise that we’re exceeding the normal rainfall for this time of year.¬†Jerry Stenger of the University of Virginia is the State Climatologist. He says our region has had large amounts of rain, and a longer than usual period when there’s rainfall every day. A section of University Avenue (pictured) near the 14th Street railroad bridge is an example of places where flooding is common. Stenger was a guest on “Charlottesville Right Now.”
