Searchers Find Body Of Missing Albemarle Woman

Searchers have discovered the body of an elderly woman who had been missing in Albemarle County since Friday night. 75-year-old Evelyn Mae Turner (she’s shown in a tan coat in a picture furnished by the Albemarle Police) was found Sunday afternoon in a wooded area behind Tennis Drive in Four Seasons. County Police do not suspect foul play in her death. Turner showed up late Friday night at the West Park Market on Four Seasons Drive and let a clerk know she felt confused and needed directions to get home. An extensive search for Turner began Saturday morning and it lasted until her body was found Sunday. The search was led by volunteers from the Albemarle County Sheriff’s Office and involved 15 different agencies.
