Schools Along 29 North Corridor Exceed Enrollment Projections

The Albemarle Schools have more students than expected at several schools along the 29 corridor. Albemarle High School has well over 1800 students, and enrollments are larger than projected at some urban ring elementary schools. Assistant Superintendent Billy Haun (pictured left) shared his research Thursday night with Superintendent Pam Moran (pictured right) and the Albemarle School Board. Meanwhile, there’s been a drop in the 8th-grade enrollment at Walton Middle School, where parents complained last spring about bullying in the bathroom and incidents involving alcohol and sexual activities. Walton made several personnel and curriculum changes for this semester.
