Regional Library System Gets New Budget

Regional Library System Gets New Budget

The employees of the regional library system will get a 2% pay increase effective next Monday.    Director John Halliday says several branches will also get additional staff hours in a new budget that the system’s trustees adopted on Monday.    Halliday and his staff are also preparing for the future home of the Northside Library.   The system’s busiest branch will move next year from Albemarle to the old Phillips Supply building on West Rio Road.   The library staff paused Monday to honor Andrea Williams.      She’s the longtime Collections Manager for the library system.   Williams (pictured) is retiring after 36 years.
